On Wednesday 28 October, Luke’s Bánh Mì founder Luke Vu is hosting a birthday bash for the books, shouting any Luke in Melbourne a free feed.
Anyone named Luke is invited to drop into one of Luke’s seven bánh mì bakeries (between 2pm and 4pm), to pick up their free standard bánh mì.
It’s all part of Luke’s master plan to create a National Luke’s Day.
“Birthdays are great, but sharing them with an entire city of Lukes is even better,” he said.
“I’ve always believed that having the name Luke comes with great responsibility – and on the 28th October, that responsibility is eating delicious bánh mì on me. So if your name’s Luke, come down, grab a free feed, and help us kick off what will hopefully become an annual tradition!”
Those whose name is not Luke shouldn’t be discouraged – by purchasing a bánh mì on Luke’s birthday, they have the chance to discover a ‘Luke’s Pass’ hidden in a selection of bánh mì bags – the pass allows them to become a ‘Luke’ to claim a free standard bánh mì. There are 10 Luke’s Passes per store.
Those named Luke will need to show identification on placing their order for their free standard bánh mì.
“I’m looking forward to celebrating my birthday with other Lukes out there and hopefully we can make this an annual event!” he said.
