The Woodfired Puttanesca Pizza draws on one of southern Italy’s most iconic recipes, combining tomato, mozzarella, olives, capers and oregano for a bold, savoury-tangy finish.
The Woodfired Salame Pizza pairs rich salame with mozzarella and tomato and is a genuine first for Australia. Destination Italy has built the infrastructure required to bring an Italian-made pizza base and salame together on local shelves, a combination that has never before been available in an Australian frozen pizza. It’s a milestone that reflects the brand’s commitment to doing things the harder, more authentic way.
These two flavours join Destination Italy’s Woodfired Margherita and Mushroom & Truffle Pizza, rounding out a range built entirely around traditional recipes and genuine Italian production, not replicated locally, but shipped from where the tradition began.
Destination Italy believes that frozen pizza shouldn’t have to compromise on authenticity. Destination Italy’s sales grew by 34% during the same period at Coles, significantly outpacing the broader frozen pizza category, which grew by around 2%. The figures point to a shift in what shoppers want from the freezer aisle, with consumers increasingly looking for greater quality and convenience.
With the expanded range now on shelves, Destination Italy expects to more than double its sales across Australia and New Zealand over the coming 12 months as it continues to build momentum with consumers looking for quality, authenticity and convenience.
