Who says the beach is only for summer?
This winter, InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach is proving the coast isn’t just for summer, inviting guests to embrace the season with comforting coastal dining, luxurious festive styling and a one-night-only truffle dinner overlooking Coogee Beach.
In partnership with Balsam Hill, the globally renowned purveyor of Christmas trees and elevated festive décor, the hotel’s lobby and Shutters Restaurant and Bar have been transformed into an elegant winter wonderland, adorned with beautifully styled trees, twinkling lights and seasonal touches.
Against this festive backdrop, Shutters Restaurant and Bar is celebrating the season with three hearty dishes, served alongside the restaurant’s à la carte menu throughout winter. Crafted by Executive Chef Stephen Lech, the seasonal additions include Tasmanian salmon gravlax with dill crème fraîche, free-range turkey breast with braised spiced red cabbage, potato pavé and maple-glazed carrots, followed by traditional Christmas pudding with dark cherry compote and Heilala vanilla custard.
Next month, one of Australia’s most sought after winter delicacies comes to the Coogee with The Season of Truffle Dinner, in partnership with grower Barbara Hill, owner of Macenmist Black Truffles and Wines on Saturday, 15th August. Marking the height of Australian truffle season, the three course menu pairs freshly harvested black Périgord truffles from the Snowy Monaro with the unexpected backdrop of Coogee Beach, with highlights such as Skull Island tiger prawns and Riverina beef short rib.
For $120pp, guests will be welcomed with a truffle infused brandy cocktail on arrival before hearing from Barbara between courses. Having planted her first inoculated truffle trees in 2008, Barbara will share the story behind her NSW Southern Tablelands farm, detailing how truffles are grown and discovered. An optional matched wine pairing is also available for $95pp. For more information and to book please visit HERE.
