Snow globes, ice sculpting and festive fun take over Queen Victoria Market this July
Christmas is arriving six months early at Queen Victoria Market, with the Winter Night Market embracing the festive spirit across all five Wednesday nights in July.
Running every Wednesday from 1 to 29 July, Melbourne’s favourite winter night out will transform into a Christmas in July celebration , complete with live ice sculpting, giant snow globes, sparkling decorations, festive performers and limited-time food and drink specials.
Coinciding with the Victorian school holidays, the first three Wednesdays in July (1, 8 and 15 July) will also see the Winter Night Market expand, creating even more room for families, food lovers and festive fun.
At the heart of the festivities is a giant walk-in snow globe , inviting visitors to step inside a swirling flurry of snow for the ultimate winter photo. Throughout the evening, talented ice sculptors will transform towering blocks of ice into intricate works of art while overhead snowflake installations light up the Market after dark.
String Bean Alley will come alive with a spectacular line-up of roaming entertainment including light-up hula hoop performers; towering Christmas Tree stilt walkers; giant elves; fire eaters; roller-skating baubles; ice ninjas; and Christmas carollers, delivering festive surprises around every corner.

The Christmas spirit extends to the Winter Night Market’s food and drink offering, with visitors invited to indulge in Melbourne’s ultimate winter comfort food including:
- Bubbling raclette from MELTED
- Loaded baked potatoes from Spud Pappi
- Steaming bowls of lobster and king crab chowder and pumpkin soup from The Soup Factory
- Iconic hot jam doughnuts from American Doughnut Kitchen
- Campfire hot chocolates and gooey s’mores from Mixed Bag
To warm up from the inside out, sip on mulled wine, spiced chai or the signature Warm Butter Beer, alongside a menu of winter-spiced cocktails, hot mocktails and Brick Lane’s limited-edition Winter Oatmeal Stout.
