Bang Bang Now Open In Frankston

Pan Asian favourite’s biggest venue yet, along with new After Dark offering

Bang Bang, the much-loved Pan Asian restaurant known for its vibrant flavours and atmosphere, has opened the doors to its new venue in Frankston, the largest venue to date.

Located on Playne Street, the new venue makes Bang Bang a standout bayside destination in the heart of Frankston. Seating up to 134 guests across indoor, outdoor and the bar, the restaurant is bringing its signature energy to the coastal hub known for its beachside lifestyle, friendly local community, creative culture. Frankston has a growing dining scene, complimented by this latest opening, and the town is a natural gateway to the Mornington Peninsula.

In a first for Bang Bang, Frankston will introduce After Dark. Late evening every Friday and Saturday, the venue will transition from a dinner destination into a late-night social hub, with premium DJs playing a curated mix of disco, funk and retro beats until late. The experience is designed to be funky, sophisticated yet fun, with guests coming for dinner, staying for drinks and dancing the night away as the space comes alive.

A curated ‘After Dark’ menu will be available late into the night, featuring pairing snacks alongside Bang Bang’s cocktails and full drinks menu. After Dark bites could include Prawn Toast, Eggplant Skewers, Sweet Potato Fries, Spring Rolls and Chicken Bao.

Leading the kitchen is Executive Chef Dan Poyner, who has shaped the Bang Bang menu since the restaurant’s inception in 2016. His influences draw on flavours from Japan, Thailand and India, delivered through modern technique and a strong focus on quality, consistency, creativity and fresh local produce. Much-loved signature dishes are on the menu, alongside evolving plates that reflect his ongoing exploration of Asian cuisine.

Frankston guests should try timeless favourites Crispy Fried Sichuan Eggplant, 12 Hour Beef Brisket Gua Bao, Twice Cooked Pork Belly and Butter Chicken Curry. Other menu highlights include Beef Short Rib, Thai Roasted Cauliflower, Katsu Sando and Atlantic Salmon. The menu has options for gluten friendly, dairy friendly, vegetarian and vegan.

Guests can opt to choose from three different Feed Me menus for groups of two or more, designed for those who want to let the kitchen guide the experience with a curated selection of dishes.

Signature cocktails include Midnight Rose (That Spirited Lot Vodka, Chambord, pineapple, citrus, strawberry), Chilli Chilli Bang Bang (Luna Hueca Tequila, Cointreau, lime, green chilli, chilli salt) and Sloe & Cherry (Ink Slow & Berry Gin, Disaronno Amaretto, Cherry Liquer, lemon).

Bang Bang Hour (5pm-6pm Mon-Thurs and 4pm-6pm Fri-Sun) offers $2 Oysters and Eggplant Skewers, $15 selected cocktails, $10 Bang Bang bubbles and wine and $8 schooners.
